He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Burrell and Hazel Burrell (Fett). He is survived by: his wife Geraldine; and his daughter Amy Jo Blik (Michael).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Johnson University, Knoxville, TN.
