With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Catherine Kavanagh (Lansing, Michigan), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 30, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her husband William Lawrence Kavanagh; her children, Mary McCune (James), Thomas Kavanagh (Donna Hathcock), Jeanne Kavanagh (Albert Merriman), Michael Kavanagh (Diane), Larry Kavanagh (Bill Allred), Denise Van Pelt (Tom), Colleen Kavanagh and Paul Kavanagh (Megan); her grandchildren, Michael McCune (Ashli), Erica Giles (Rob Bailey), Nathan Van Pelt (Melissa), Joanna Hooten (Doug), Laura Kuipers (Austin) and Todd Kavanagh; and her great grandchildren, Caleb, Quinn McCune, Landon, Brynley Giles, Paxton, Zeb Miller, Ramona, Oliver, George Hooten, Helen, Nelson Kuipers, Sienna, Raeya Jean Van Pelt, Dublin and Mason Kavanagh.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A rosary was held on Wednesday, December 4th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes (520 E Mt Hope Ave, Lansing, MI 48910). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (3815 S Cedar St, Lansing, MI 48910).
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Mother Teresa House for the Care of the Terminally Ill in Lansing, MI or Hospice of Michigan in Ludington, MI in Helen's honor.
