He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Fay and Leona Shaw (Ringle); his son Jeffrey; his brothers, Orval, Carl, Robert and Marvin; and his grandsons, Bruce Smeltzer Jr., Corey Smith and Bud Jenks (Jerry).
He is survived by: his wife Shelby Jean (Smith); his children, Althea Bowen (John), Susan Smeltzer (Bruce), Mary Parker (Darrell), Janet Ballard, Keitha Malaski (John), Brad Smith (Guadelupe), Lisa Coates (Jason), Paul Smith (Myra), Shelby Jenks and Bruce Smith; and his sister Gaytha Tuttle (Dale).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to McLaren Hospice or American Cancer Society.
