He is survived by: his wife Patricia Vandenberg; his children, Catherine Thomas (Michael), James Alden and Dea Alden-Apsey; his sister Patricia Pence (Tom); his grandchildren, Christopher Machala, Jillayne Helmholdt (Aaron), Rae Rabideau (Jon Zamora), Lee Rabideau, Melanie Liebert (Christopher) and Nathan; his great grandchildren, Madison Machala, Malachai Skazinski, Liahna Helmholdt, Olivia Helmholdt, Alden Stuart and Jackson Zamora; his close friend Jannice Sika; and his friend Oak.
