He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline T. Jessop (Chad R. Jessop) of Alabama; and his grandson Samuel F. Barnett, Jr. (Denise J. Barnett). He is survived by: his stepchildren, Edith Jane Smith St (late Skip), Brenda E. Barnett (Samuel) and Richard E. Jessop (Judy Bos) of Wayland, MI.; and his daughter Barbara Smith (Dave).

The family is asking in lieu of flowers to have contributions go to the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, 2216 S. Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48910.
