She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman J Childs and Evangeline Childs; her siblings, Allegra C. Thompson, Chrystal Howard and Norman B. Childs (Calvin C. Anderson); and her daughter Judith B. Rush.
She is survived by: her husband Calvin C. Anderson; her daughter Debra Brown of Lansing; her grandchildren, Naketah Brown, Traci Grant (Jay), Anthony Brown, Jamar Rush (Alysia), Rachele Dorsey (Tony) and Yvonne Smith (Kino); her nieces, Deanna Morgan and Sheryl Robinson; and her son-in-law Jerome Rush. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, it was Evangeline's wish for donations to be made in her name to the United Negro College Fund, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, American Red Cross, or American Cancer Society.
