He was predeceased by: his parents, William Burdel and Louise Banghart (Schultz); and his siblings, William (Gloria), Perry (Donna), Wilhelmina Avis (Bill), Doris Jehle (Charles) and Elna.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta (Dye); his children, Richard (Zara), Mark (Kathy) and Emily Clark (Gordon); his stepchildren, David Peto (Louise), Dan Peto and Julie Marrison (Ken); his grandchildren, Linus Richard (Stephanie), Jeffrey (Betsy), Daniel (Stacie), Michael, Andrea Detrick (Christopher), Abigail Grill (Erik) and Benjamin English (Kat Cooper); his stepgrandchildren, Andrew Marrison and Katie Marrison; and his sister Esther Peter (Gerald). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
