We bid farewell to Elbert Rutledge of Lansing, Michigan, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 30, 2024 at the age of 87. Elbert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Rutledge and Pansy Rutledge (Allison); and his wife Phyllis Barclay. He is survived by: his daughters, Sheila Rutledge-Graham (Ed) of Charlotte, Glenda Gatewood (J. D.) of Eagle and Sandra Swearingen (Karl) of Lansing; his grandchildren, William Graham (April), Joseph Graham (Jessica), Garrett Graham, Breck Graham (McKayla), Lyndi Gatewood, Kenzie Strouse (Taylor), Blake and Joel Swearingen; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Jenny, Jax, Lucas, Pennie and Spencer; and also, Jenn Novenske and Shawn Rogers.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home & Cremation Services (406 N Bridge St, Grand Ledge, MI 48837). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
