She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Gilpin and Edna Gilpin; her former husband Edward "Tony" Smieska; her sons, Edward J Smieska Jr. and Mark Smieska; her husband Richard Romanek; and her siblings, Lowell, Bernard (Pat), Leo (Carol), Ruth, Margaret and Mary.

She is survived by: her siblings, Jim (Sheila) of Eaton Rapids, Michael of Lansing, Janet Cousineau of Lansing and Dawn (John Balog) of Maui. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to expressed that due to the pandemic, Covid-19, there will not be a luncheon following the service.
