He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald E. Smith and Arlene A. Smith (Jackson); his wife Adah G. Smith; and his grandson Thomas Waligorski. He is survived by: his children, Michael Smith (Dawn) and Melissa Smith; his grandchildren, Grace, Claire, Brody and Kailyn; and his sisters, Patricia Ashcraft (Delbert), Doris Sciara (Jack), Donna Reese (Greg) and Sue Garritno (Dee). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
