He was predeceased by: his father Jesus Chavez; and his brother Thomas Chavez. He is survived by: his mother Gregoria Chavez (Galindo); his daughters, Emily Chavez (Eric Koziol) and Lydia Krysl (Vincent); his granddaughters, Melanie Koziol and Matilda Krysl; and his sisters, Patricia Wilson (Rick), Gloria Price (Jim), Mary DePersia (Patrick), Helen Chavez and Lorie Sierra. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
