He was predeceased by: his parents, Einar Hedlund and Evah Hedlund (Spencer); his brother Howard Hedlund; and his brother-in-law John Hopkins. He is survived by: his wife Margaret (Carlson); his children, Adam Hedlund, Amanda Hedlund (Omar Kandah), Danielle Wetherwax, Angella Bollwahn, Thomas (Denise), Ashley Killam (Josiah), Benjamin Hedlund (Cassandra Ward), David Jr. (Jennifer), Brady Hedlund (Erin) and Elizabeth Hedlund; his great grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden Wetherwax; his sister Nancy Hopkins; his sister-in-law Judith Hedlund; and also Robert (Elizabeth). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Congregation Church (421 E Bridge St, Portland, MI 48875).
