He was predeceased by: his mother Nina Johnson; and his father-in-law Lynn Fox. He is survived by: his father William Johnson; his wife Cheryl; his mother-in-law Bonnie Fox of Newberry, MI; his siblings, Billy Johnson (Lorna) and Leslie Sutton (Kent) of Snyder, TX; and his stepsons, Rodney Holbrook Jr. of Newberry, MI and Leroy Holbrook (Young) of Lansing, MI. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
