He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Sr. Maurer and Eleanore Maurer (Stanchfield); his wife Rachel McClanahan Maurer; his son-in-law Keith Nelson; and his siblings, Jackson Stanchfield Maurer and Sylvia May Hasson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Eleanore "Elen" Maurer (Joel "Buzz" Brown) of L'Anse and Catherine Nelson of Grantsburg, WI; his granddaughter Rachel Ann Maurer; and his great grandchild Archer Almli. He is also survived by his daughters and fished with his sons in law.
