James A. Staelgraeve Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Staelgraeve and Helena Staelgraeve (VanDamme); his former wife Jan Lanphere; his brothers, Richard, Charles and Daniel Staelgraeve; his son James A. Staelgraeve II; his grandson Korey Knowles; and his daughter-in-law Sonja Staelgraeve.
He is survived by: his wife Melissa Staelgraeve; his children, Julie Stein (Allen) of Monroe and Jonathon Staelgraeve (Cathy) of Northville; his stepdaughters, Heather Shaw of Charleston, SC, Elizabeth Asbury (John) of Toledo and Kathryn Fahrer (Neil) of Lambertville; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Megan Staelgraeve, Kaylee, Kelsey Stein, Joseph, Zachary Staelgraeve, Judi, Julian, Aiden, Rivers Shaw, Keaton Asbury, Olivia, Alaina and Adalynn Fahrer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, Inc. (1201 S Telegraph Rd, Monroe, MI 48161). The lying in state was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (127 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim's memory may be made to Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan at Monroe.
