He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Knab and Edith Knab; his son Michael "Mick" Knab; and his siblings, Lester "Bub" Knab, Darwood Knab and Marguarite Cowan.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Stark; and his children, Ronald Knab of Toledo, Timothy Knab (Nancy) of Erie, Patricia Weinstein (Tim) of Lindsey, Sue Kinsey (Sam) of Temperance, Sherrie DeSloover (Tim) of LaSalle and Robyn Hinen (Kurt) of Columbia City. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
