He was predeceased by: his sons, Keith Schmidlin and James Schmidlin; his siblings, James Schmidlin and Kathryn Williams; and his stepsister Kathleen Vaclik.
He is survived by: his parents, Oscar Schmidlin and Nellie Schmidlin (Krieger); his wife Jean; his daughters, Vicki Flores and Lisa Duda; and his siblings, Walter Schmidlin (Cris), Paul Schmidlin (Tracy) and Mary Jo Holmes (Paul). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
