He is survived by: his wife Cathy Ackerson of Lakeview; his daughters, Lisa Young (Tim) of Valparaiso, IN and Katie (Mike Burgess); his grandchildren, Cameron and Sydney Moore; his brothers, Randy Ackerson (Mariann) of Greenville, Ray Ackerson (Karen) of Gowen, Roger Ackerson (Nancy) of Coral and Darrell Way of Stanton; his parents-in-law, Larry and Dolores Gilbert of Lakeview; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Gilbert (Julie) of Nashville, MI and Julie Menard (Ron) of North Dakota. He is also survived by aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
