He was predeceased by: his parents, Elaine Space and Dorwin Space; his sister Lori Musson; his aunt Linda Losey; and his uncle David Prichard.
He is survived by: his significant other Kathrine Dukes; his children, Melanie, Jamey Steck of Ovid, Rachel Simpson of Owosso, Dakota Vincent of Owosso, Makenna Vincent of Owosso, Mary Jane Dukes, Marley Simmons and Makina Dukes of Lake; and his brothers, Brian Merrit, Donald Merritt and Tom Merritt. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, inlaws, extended family and friends.
