Joy Blakely Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2023, at the age of 91, Joy Blakely of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Hampel and Marion Hampel; her husband Clare Hazen Blakely; her children, Bruce, Gay and Shirley; her daughter-in-law Shirley; her great grandchildren, Emma and Olivia; her brother Bruce; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Hampel and Priscilla Hampel; and her sisters, June (Dick Morlok) and Linda (Chuck Begerow).

She is survived by: her children, Randall Blakely, Kelly Blakely, Jayne Blakely and Carol Gates (Mark); her brother Keith Hampel; her grandchildren, Carrie Spalding, Rachel Jenkins, April Spalding, Zachary Blakely, Kurt Blakely (Erin), Kris Blakely (Tammy), Ted Blakely (Ashly), Katie Shong (Jason), Adam Thelen, Jessica Jankowski, Joshua Blakely, Jacob Blakely, Hogan Scheidt and Carly Scheidt; and her friend Paula Jewell. She is also survived by 38 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren, and longtime caregiver.

Donations in Joy's name can be given to Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome Foundation or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
