He was predeceased by: his siblings, Connie Seavolt and Becky Shuert. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his son Gary (Nancy); his grandchildren, Nathan and Katie; his siblings, Joanne McDaniels (Ray), Ronnie Shuert (Mae), Patsy Cole, Bill Shuert, Des Shuert (Mary), Sandy Widgery (John) and Randy Shuert (Dodie); and his pets, Sophie and Sammie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers memorials in Sonny's name can be given to the Alta Mae Memorial Scholarship Fund at the VFW Post 4461 in Lake Odessa or Humane Society of Barry County.
