He was predeceased by : his siblings, Orton Kauffman, Mary Schrock, Virginia Craven and Loren Kauffman. He is survived by : his wife Emma; his children, Darwin, Teresa Kauffman and Julie Kauffman; his grandchildren, Erik, Ellie Kauffman, Audrey, Travis Crammer, Luke, Lauren Kauffman, Emma Kauffman and Allison Chou; his great grandchildren, Adeline Crammer and Taylor Crammer; and his siblings, Verlin Kauffman, Iva Geiser, Esta Ott, Rozella and Dale Hoffman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
