He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Monette and Shirley Monette (Zerbst); and his brother James. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Heikkila; his siblings, Pauline Wuoti (Steven), Michael Monette (Tammy), Charlotte Monette and Jennifer Abramson (Dan); and his close friend Oakie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
