She was predeceased by: her grandmother Jean Shibler; her stepfather Bill Alderden; and her mother-in-law Pamela Escalera. She is survived by: her husband Michael R. Escalera; her children, Destany of Lake City, Paige of Lake City, Maritza of Lake City and Hailey of Lake City; her parents, Susan Ouwinga (Robert) of Cadillac and Tony Root (Teresa) of Lake City; her sister Brandi Wetherell (Brad) of Greenville, SC; her grandparents, Don Hoitenga (Diane), Robert Root and Joan Weatherby; and her father-in-law Jose Escalera of Lake City.
