Eleanor Irene Sumerix Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 7, 2023, at the age of 86, Eleanor Irene Sumerix in Lachine, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Allison Badgero and Emma Marie Badgero (Bahrke); her husband Bert Sumerix; and her siblings-in-law, Joan Sumerix, Rosemary Miller, Donna Black, Irma Sumerix, James Anderson, Harry Sumerix, Orville McGirr, Richard Schultz, Ron Marquardt Sr., Frank Brown, Dewey Talley and William Sumerix.
She is survived by: her children, Connie Cook (Joseph), Larry Sumerix (Kelley Smith) and Ivan Sumerix (Barbara); her grandchildren, Bill Cook (Melissa), Kristy Halani (Pallav), Lisa Grabijas (Eric), Amanda Hattis (Jeff), Ashley Sumerix, Ashley Hanson (Kyle), Brooke Gildner (Justin), Cody Sumerix and Paige Sumerix; her great grandchildren, Aaron, Skylar, Mason, Spencer Cook, Hanna, Harrison Halani, Thomas, Alexander Hattis, Levi, Myles Hanson and Charlotte Gildner; her sisters, Janice Brown and Sheryl Talley; and her siblings-in-law, Dolores Sumerix, Edith McGirr, Christine Schultz, Joanne Truman (Gordon), Mable Anderson, Diane Szymanski (Richard), DeLynn Timm (Chuck), Kenneth Sumerix, Keith Sumerix (Diann) and Delbert Black. She is also survived by her husband, children, grandchildren.
In place of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Long Rapids Congregational Church or the Alpena Community College Foundation for a scholarship in Eleanor's honor.
