He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Aikens and Mabel Aikens (Smith); his spouse Dell Lynn McDonnell; his son Paul Aikens; and his siblings, Ronald Aikens and Doris Burke.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Burns, Denise Grulke (Denny), Karen Haugen (Dale), Brian Aikens (Christine), Julie Ferguson-Powers (Charles) and Gordon Aikens (JoAnne); his daughter-in-law Melanie Aikens; and his brother Stephen Aikens (Shirley). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren.
