He was predeceased by: his father Milton Fairchild; and his stepfather Dan VanAelst. He is survived by: his children, Ricky Fairchild of Thompsonville, Anna Fairchild of Battle Creek, Robert Fairchild of Alpena and Alex Fairchild of Branson, Missouri; his sister Diana Fairchild of Bear Lake; his mother Peggy VanAelst of Bear Lake; and his stepsiblings, Scott VanAelst (Sam), Paul VanAelst (Lori), Amy Rowland (Ken) and Kim Terpstra (Ryan). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and two granddaughters.
