He was predeceased by: his mother-in-law Patricia Whiteford; his stepson Benjamin Reid; his brother James Chavalia; his siblings-in-law, William Wright, Bruce Pass, Christine Swaney and Shelly Seeger; and his niece Lauren McDowell.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; his stepchildren, Joseph and Rebecca Reid; his adoptive children, Destyne, Dylan, Robbie and Shaylin Chavalia; his siblings, Patricia Wright, Roger Chavalia, Joseph Chavalia, Sandra Chavalia and Gary Chavalia (Sally); his sisters-in-law, Cindy Chavalia, Mary Pickard (Joe), Pamela LaPlante, Penny Whiteford Pass and Angela Friske (Wyman); his grandchildren, Cameron, Bryon Antcliff, Makheala and Erin Lovely; and his great grandchild Mason. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
