He was predeceased by: his parents, Les Simmons and Hazel Simmons; and his siblings, Rose Stiebe, Donna Cross, Raymond, Robert and Henry.

He is survived by: his sons, Dereck Simmons (Jamie), Chandell Simmons (Dorothy), Jim Simmons (Cindy), Chris Simmons (Loretta) and Rocky Simmons; and his brother Les Simmons (Bev).
