He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Andrew Gelder and Martha Gelder (Ludema); his wife Madelon (Oosterhouse); his children, Kenneth Gelder (Jan Passmore), Cynthia Andela (Jim Jordan), Yvonne Hogenes (Ken), Dawn DeKievit (Neil), Marla Bliss (Randy), Paula DenHartigh (Steve), Gretchen Peters (Wayne) and Melodee Pikaart (Dirk); his siblings-in-law, Rev. Jacob Heerema, Edward William Oosterhouse (Corry) and Ina Oosterhouse; and his daughter-in-law Jan Gelder.
