He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Carlson (Gary) and Rick Averill (Trudy); and his grandchildren, Marcy Toporski (Todd), Melissa Hreha (Steve), Deb Carnes (Jamie), Scott Averill (Amanda) and Shannon Finazzo (Jimmy). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Mamrelund Lutheran Church or Fountain View of Grant.
