Jay Kotaniemi Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Kotaniemi of Kearsarge, Michigan, born in Laurium, Michigan, who passed away on June 30, 2021, at the age of 54, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Kotaniemi and Mary Kotaniemi (Klobuchar); his brother Steven Kotaniemi (Sue); and his friend Kurt Clairmont. He is survived by: his daughter Katy Kotaniemi (Jason) of Hancock Karly; his siblings, Dan Kotaniemi of Kearsarge, Joe Kotaniemi (Donna) of Kearsarge and Sue Rutkowski (Jim) of Marquette; and his nieces and nephews, Kelly Treganowan (Josh) of Mohawk, Josh Kotaniemi of Marquette and Jennifer Cleary (Chad) of Marquette. He is also survived by numerous cousins, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials and donations may be sent to his family at 1029 Summit Street Hancock, Michigan 49930.
