With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Valerie L. Schmidt (Kawkawlin, Michigan), who passed away on August 31, 2018 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Bill; her brother Ronald Meylan; and her brothers-in-law, Pete Arsenault and Larry DeBats. She is survived by: her children, Bill Schmidt (Renay), Mike Schmidt (Cheryl), Brenda Rowley (Keith) and Susan Cooley (Jeff); her daughter-in-law Michelle Schmidt; her grandchildren, Clint Schmidt (Kelli), Trevor Schmidt (Jenny), Devlin Schmidt (Ashley), Michael Schmidt (Tiffany), Scott Schmidt (Summer), Kevin Schmidt (Heidi), Brianne Kramer (Jason), Zachary, ChelseaRae, Seth Rowley, Joseph, Luke and Addison Cooley; her siblings, Betty Arsenault, Linda DeBats and Allan "Pete" Meylan (Trudy); her sister-in-law Donna Meylan (Petrimoulx); her sons, Donald and Randall; her parents, Herman Meylan and Marion Meylan (Grandmaison); and also, John Schmidt and Pearl Schmidt (Coggins).
