Ronald E McNally Obituary
Ronald Edward McNally, lovingly known as Ronnie or Ron, passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2025, at the age of 78 after a valiant battle with Glioblastoma. Born on July 17, 1946, in Bay City, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late Arthur and Esther (Behmlander) McNally. Ron married the love of his life, Lynn (Ruegsegger), on August 6, 1966, at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church in Kawkawlin, Michigan. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and family.
A lifelong member of St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church, Ron served faithfully as Treasurer for many years. He loved camping, traveling throughout the US and World, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle, and tinkering with projects around the house. Ron retired from J & L Transport as a truck driver and diesel technician and was the current owner/operator of K & C transport. Ron had a great sense of humor with always a quip or saying in any situation. Ron never met a person who wasn't a friend. He loved learning new things – he never met a museum he didn't like and Ice cream to Ron was a basic food group. Most of all he loved his family and loved being a Dad and Papa. Ron's warmth and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was a devoted father to Kimberly (Andrew) Chartier of Traverse City, MI, and Cherie (Douglas) Westphal of Clinton Township, MI. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jyssica (Ryan) Sule of Eagan, MN; Cassandra (Ivan) Spadina of Eastpointe, MI; Douglas Westphal of West Hollywood, CA; and Kylie Chartier of St. George, UT. He also loved playing with his great-granddaughters, Izabela and Nikolina Spadina.
Ron is survived by his siblings Lyle McNally, Norma Rapp, and Janice Harbin; sisters-in-laws Rose McNally, Karen (Dennis) Jozwiak and Terry Ruegsegger and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his in-laws Ben and Elaine Ruegsegger, his brother Robert McNally; siblings-in-law Marlene McNally, Richard Harbin, Alan and Jackie Ruegsegger, and Howard Ruegsegger; nephew Bruce McNally; and niece Julie Pryor.
Ron's warmth and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
