He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard (Sandra Sabias) and Frank (Wanda Meerdo); his in-laws, Joe and MaryEllen Bragiel; his brother-in-law Mike Schmidt; and his brother Clinton Sabias.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sabias (Bragiel); his children, Summer Schmidt (Scott) and Rich Sabias (Cassie); his grandchildren, Owen, Macie and Palmer Schmidt; his siblings, Patti Mudd (Dale) and Marlon Sabias; and his siblings-in-law, Joanne Schmidt, Gail Vennix (Craig), Joe Bragiel and Mike Bragiel (Toni).
