He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine Taylor Thirlby and Ben Thirlby; his former wife Patricia Thirlby; his sister Mary Joy Thirlby; and his son Ben Thirlby.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Thirlby Faber (Daniel) of Fife Lake and Venice Thirlby of Benzie County; and his siblings, Robert Schwenter of Traverse City, Charles Thirlby (Karen Koon) of Kingsley and Charlsie K. Coderre (Paul) of Pawleys Island, SC..
In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts may be directed to Hospice of Michigan or Kalkaska County Commission on Aging, Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
