He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Walter and Dora Walter (Krueger); his wife Kathleen Lois Heck; his daughter Susan Kay; and his brother Raymond Walter.

He is survived by: his children, Douglas Latham and Laura Latham (John) of Kalkaska; his grandson Jason Walter (Becky) of Livonia; his great grandchild Wyatt Clint; and his sister-in-law Mary Walter.
