He is survived by: his wife Faye Kaarto (Niemitalo) of Kaleva; his children, Jason Kaarto (Amy) of Omaha and Kari Franz (Jeff) of Kaleva; his grandchildren, Lila Kaarto, Devin, Kirsten, Caleb and Kira; and his sister Marlene Hiltunen of Hixson, Tennessee. He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews; and many friends.
