He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Murphy and Mattie Murphy (McFarland); his wife Mildred "Mille" Murphy (Darmogray); and his sister-in-law Kathleen Murphy. He is survived by: his sons, Bill and Nicholas Murphy (Deborah); his grandson Peter Murphy (Sarah); his siblings, Muriel "Murphy" Robins (Wayne), Eileen Hood, Patricia Drew and Michael Murphy; his close friend Sue Youker-Schlaack; and also Ronda Lichtensteiger (Toby). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be given to St. Basil Catholic School of South Haven or H.O.P.E Parent Resource Center in South Haven.
