He was predeceased by: his parents, George Block and Elizabeth Block (Boverhof); his wife Alareka (Mejeur); his siblings, Marvin Block (Sandi), Chuck Block (Lois), Pearl Brouwer (James) and Harold Block (Pat); and his sister-in-law Connie Block.
He is survived by: his children, Charlene DeBoer (Robert), Wayne Block, Jr. (Kristine) and Marcia VandenOever (Chris); his grandchildren, Jacob DeBoer (Sarah), Tiffany Ridgley (Ryan), Andrew Block (Lauren), Katie Herrera (Aaron), Stephen VandenOever (Emily) and Kenneth VandenOever (Miranda); his brother Roger Block; his close friend Lin Pierce; his children, Tracy Pierce (Allison) and Jason Pierce (Tina); and his grandchildren, Emme, Claire and Tyler Pierce.
