Walter M. Long Sr. Obituary

In accordance with his wish cremation will take place and private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice, c/o the funeral home.

Age 79, passed away at his home in Kalamazoo on June 1, 2024. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Roy and Hilda (Woodcock) Long. Walt was kind, generous and creative. His smile and laughter will be missed by those who loved him. Walt had a creative mind and excelled at many arts and crafts, especially ceramics. He loved working with his hands and was a cabinet finisher by trade. When not working he loved spending time with his family and was proud of his children and grandchildren. Walter leaves behind many special memories to be cherished. He is survived by two loving sons, Walter (Jodi) Long Jr., David (Jill) Long; grandchildren, Mason and Isabella Long, Joshua Long; siblings, Roy (Betty) Long, Anna Malkowski; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in passing by a son, Roy V. Long; siblings, Robert, Edward, Sherry, Jimmy, Francis "Fannie", Hilda "Sis" and George Long.
