She was predeceased by: her parents, Nick Hoogendoorn and Minnie Hoogendoorn (Dontje); her husband Allan Vanden Bos; her siblings, Nellie, Jeanette, Agnita, Juanita, Willie, Henry, Jake, Nick, Ben, Roy, Coolie and Wayne; and her son-in-law Gary Selent.

She is survived by: her brother Jack Hoogendoorn (Ida); her children, Pam Selent, Paula Smeed (Sherman), Ron Vanden Bos (Wendy) and Pat VanOrder (Mark); her grandchildren, Angie Steed (Jeremy), Greg Selent, Scott Selent (Alex), Michelle McClendon (Daniel), Emily Bartlett, Eric Smeed, Laura Simonds (Jake), Steve Vanden Bos, Christine Osentoski (Justin) and Matt Carpenter (Tiffany); and her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Avery Steed, Wiley, Nora McClendon, Adalynn Bartlett, Sawyer, Callie Simonds, Alexandria, Charlotte Osentoski, Chloe, Ashley and Jonathan Carpenter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
