He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P. Simon and Dorothy S. Simon (Brady) of Manhasset. He is survived by: his wife Helen Ann Idol; his children, Ann (Ray Trevino), Thomas, Michael (Nancy), Danny (Julie), Dennis (Ingrid) and Patrick; his brother James Simon (Jackie); his grandchildren, Jesse Lambdin (Eunice), Gail Towne (Scott), Christopher Trevino, Jessica Bell (Nate) and Danny Simon; and his nephews, Jimmy, Joe and John Simon.
