It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Theodore Schaafsma (Kalamazoo, Michigan), born in Springfield, South Dakota, who passed away on October 23, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lewis Schaafsma, Marion Schaafsma and Dorothy Walters; his stepson Tom Boven; and his son-in-law Don Bailey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Roberta Schaafsma and Joanne Griffioen (Steve); his stepchildren, Dan Boven (Sue), Craig Boven (Jean) and Sue Conklin (Jon); and also Sandy Skartsiaris. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, c/o the funeral home.
