A service in witness to Kate's life and faith will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Ave., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Kate will be laid to rest at Mt. Home Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice or Northeastern Baptist Church, in c/o the funeral home.
Age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday night, May 30, 2024 surrounded by family. Kate was born in Lawrenceburg, IN, on August 7, 1940, the daughter of Jed and Loretta (Snyder) Hall. On July 11, 1959, she married Robert Eugene Capps who preceded her in death in 2020. Kate will be remembered by her love for her children and grandchildren (whom she adored). Kate had a beautiful smile and a funny demeanor. She loved camping in Ludington, MI and sitting at the beach house and watching the sunset. Her collection of gnomes will go on forever. She loved animals and her dog Louie and cats Snuggles and Rosie held a very special spot in her heart. She loved sitting on her back porch and watching the birds and deer that played in her backyard. Kate is survived by loving children, Bob (Shelly) Capps, Ken Capps and Kim (Dave) Williams; five grandchildren, Keith, Ashley, Izaiha, Zoey and Jacob; sister, Linda Milan; brother, Richard Hall; several nieces, nephews; and many, many friends. Besides her husband, Kate was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessie; brother, Stan (Gloria) Hall.
