He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Van Solkema, Sr. and Katherine Van Solkema (Alles); his former wife Beth Van Solkema (Arnoys); his wife Judith Van Solkema (Kirsch); and his sisters, Shirley Boersma and Verna Van Solkema.
He is survived by: his son Steven Van Solkema; his daughter-in-law Jennifer; his grandson Daxton; his sisters, Phyllis Dykstra, Diane Denslow and Patricia Brigance; and his stepdaughters, Debbie Moran (Larry), Cindy Trout and Karen Trout. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo (321 W South St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007).
