Samuel Edward Marshall Sr. Obituary

Samuel Edward Marshall, Sr., AKA: Eddie, Edro, dad, and papa, escaped this mortal world in Kalamazoo, MI on May 19, 2024 at the age of 58.

Eddie was given life by his mother, Julia Marshall on September 14, 1965 in Bartow, FL. Later, they would lay down roots in Kalamazoo.

Edro did not have a "traditional" upbringing. He was lucky to not only been raised by a wonderful, loving mother, but by two magnificent aunts and three clever uncles. While Edro was the oldest of three children, he was also raised with many cousins and friends who remained close at hand until his life's conclusion.

Dad began one of his dearest commitments in 1988, when he became a father to his first child. He would go on to teach, protect, love, and raise three children, and continue to be a prime father until his departure.

Papa was his favorite name. Earning the title in 2012, he would have a total of four grandkids. He would brighten their days as much as they did his.

Samuel's life was enjoyed most when he could be fishing, spending time with family, watching wrestling, and "getting normal".

Eddie is proceeded In death by his mother, Julia Marshall; brother, Mitchell Marshall; uncles, Chuck, Howard, and Dan Marshall; and aunts Gaynell McMahon, and Vivian Jones.

Surviving are his children, Chauntel Marshall, Samuel Marshall Jr. (Chelsea Dugan), and Gabrielle Olvitt (Michael Olvitt); his sister, Vivian Marshall, four grandchildren, and many close cousins.

Eddie will be cremated, and an ash spreading ceremony will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, July 6 at 12:00pm.
