He was predeceased by: his father Harold; his brother Larry Bush (Joanne Bush); and his wife Shirley Bush. He is survived by: his former wife Joanne Schmidt; his children, Bryan Bush (Tina), Denise Osterhouse (Dan) and Rebecca Ponitz (Mark); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Gross (Glenn), Joshua Bush (Aleesa), Sarah Bush, Hannah Bush, Eric Osterhouse (Mistye), Heather Hudson (Eric), Joseph Ponitz (Hannah) and Luke Ponitz (Alexandria); his great grandchildren, Reece, Calli Hudson, Henry, Oliver Ponitz, Wesley Ponitz, Baby Boy Bush and Landyn Williams; his siblings, Michael Bush (Janet) and Christina Bush; and his stepchildren, Katherine Dennis (David), Kevin Kropp (Robin), Patrick Kropp (Darcy), Tom Kropp and Mariann Whitson (Chris).
