He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Tuinstra and Jennie Tuinstra (Tichelaar); his wife Marilyn (DeBruyn); and his siblings, Edythe Rockhold and Darwin Tuinstra.
He is survived by: his sons, Troy Tuinstra of Kalamazoo and Mark Tuinstra of Brooklyn; his granddaughter Jennifer Tuinstra of Waterford; and his sister Pamela Bradley (David) of Plainwell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
