He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arie Roskam and Gertrude Roskam (Schrier); his wife Elizabeth "Betty" James; his children, James Roskam (Carol), Jan Rhodes (Dan) and Carol Holcomb (Randy); his sisters, Marjorie Taylor and Dorothy Short; and his sister-in-law Jerre James. He was also cherished by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Texas Corners Bible Church, the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or a charity of one's choice.
